Every Young Mother's Worst Fears

Every Young Mother’s Worst Fears

On a hot afternoon in Odriew restaurant:

On a hot and lazy afternoon, a young and tired couple, with a child in tow, enters the portals of the restaurant to rest, and eat some homely food.  The child seems cranky.

The good gent motions for a waiter while the troubled wife tries to console her crying toddler. In the midst of his hollering, they sit down to catch a bite, but obviously aren’t enjoying their meal. The couple take turns to pacify, distract and then feed the child some home-made food the mother has brought,  to no success. (Oh, dear!)

A waiter who has been watching from the corner of his eye approaches them and asks them their permission to handle the kid.

The parents are relieved and begin enjoying their meal.

In the meanwhile, the toddler hollers even more, having been yanked away from the people who love him the most, all of which is recorded and uploaded on YouTube.  (Dear me!)

At length, the waiter approaches the table and the couple looks up with a weak smile. The waiter then dips his finger into the dish kept on a plate. The parents look on bewildered. The child’s shrieks to have him put down to his parent’s table grow louder.

All this and much more is a subject of more distraction among the other guests in the restaurant. (Tsk, tsk)

The waiter puts the finger dipped in the gravy into the child’s screaming mouth. The child grows violent and turns his face away…

His lips pucker at the new taste and for a while peace prevails…

… And then…

…His moist mouth opens for some more…! (Hee-haw)

The entire restaurant cheers as the child sits on the table and is fed by the Good Samaritan.

The parents, who are tickled pink by the turn of events, ask for some more of the food that they could carry home to feed their child.

The waiter gift the happy but puzzled couple a hamper of ITC Kitchens of India

I wonder why.

Do you? (Wink, wink)
