The Completed Story: Contest - 5

The Completed Story: Contest – 5

Ready-to-eat ITC Kitchens of India

Mr. and Mrs. Deshpande enter Odriew Restaurant one fine, sunny Sunday morning and are promptly identified by the management and ITC Kitchens of India for a joke in good humor.

As the couple settle in, a waiter approaches them and points to a board which says that service will be very fast, so that the guests can eat in peace…

The story continues…

Tushar comments to his wife that he is impressed. These days who is prompt? Even guests to a party come in half an hour late!

They place the order and engage in small talk to kill time.

At length the waiters approach…

…and spread some fragrant powder…

…on the floor. (Blink, blink)

The waiters proceed to spread the powder around evenly with their feet until the floor looks very untidy.

A bewildered Tushar now slightly irritated, beckons to a waiter.

The waiter arrives skidding across from the kitchen area to their table, holding on to the table for support.
Losing his balance, he seeks the support of sturdy Tushar and wipes his dirty hands on Tushar’s shirt. (Oh, dear!)

Ruffled, Tushar asks the waiter what in the world he is up to, all of which is recorded and uploaded on YouTube. (Tsk, tsk)

The waiter humbly explains that service has to be fast, no? That is our promise, see?

A red-in-the-face Tushar asks to see the manager, ASAP! (Dear me!)

Sure enough, the manager arrives…

…skidding across from the rear-end of the room to the table. (Oops!)

Tushar threatens to wind up the establishment, at which the manager apologizes profusely, explaining that a joke had been played on him, in jest, by the management and ITC Kitchens of India. And if he would be so kind as to wait, a spread fit for the Gods would be arranged for them.

And quickly, if he might add?

And no, they will not be using powder. (Wink, wink!)

Thank you for your kindness…

Have a great meal!
