Khel-Khel Mein, MAGGI

It’s a hot and sunny Sunday.  Didi has come to visit her two young cousins in an uptown Worli Seaface high-rise building. There’s still time for breakfast. So, daddy decides to have some fun with his camera.

Didi is playing with Maggie with… guess what? Nestle’s MAGGI Noodles! Surprise, surprise!

Didi says to Maggie, “Look, I have two packets of MAGGI!”

She shows it to her and then puts them behind her. Then she shows her hands. Maggie, not quite understanding what was happening, stops gurgling. Didi has all her attention. (Oh, no!)

Then didi pulls out a MAGGI from behind and says, ” tada…!”

Maggie is delighted. She gurgles happily.

Then didi puts her hand behind leaving both the packets and says, “Where’s your MAGGI?”

Maggie is now confused and she makes teary sounds. This game is not funny! (There, there)

Bro comes running and takes away both the packets and runs out.

Now the floodgates open wide and tears fall that would put the Niagara Falls to shame, all of which
and much else is recorded and uploaded on YouTube! (Dear me!)

Daddy and mummy are laughing, Maggie fails to understand why. (Oh, dear!)

They tell didi to fetch big bro.

Didi runs after bro and gets the packets back.

She gives it to Maggie and Maggie bites the packet with her toothless gums as tears make merry with mucus. (Tsk, tsk)

Ma lifts her and kisses her and takes her to the kitchen. She shows a shelf which is right at the top and tells her, her MAGGI is safe from naughty big bro. (Clap, clap)

Maggie is content and gurgling, and all is well in the Gupta family, strangely because of big bro and Nestle’s Atta  MAGGI Noodles!

MAGGI does it again! Kudos to big bro and MAGGI! (Wink, wink)

Where's My MAGGI?

Where’s My MAGGI?

It’s a hot and sunny Sunday morning. Daddy and bro are already at the breakfast table waiting for some hot Nestle’s MAGGI Atta Noodles.

Ma is in the kitchen. She reaches out for the air-tight container that has the noodles packets. She reaches out and finds only three packets when she had been certain there were four. What to do? (Oh, dear!)

Ma decides to make it anyway. (Help!)

The two ‘men’ of the house are impatient for the food. They start beating the forks on the plate making a lot of sound.

Maggie thinks it’s a game and starts laughing. She climbs up the chair onto the table and also adds to the din. (Hee haw)

“Yes, yes, it’s ready. Just two minutes,” says Ma from the kitchen.

Bro starts singing the jingle: “Mummy, bhookh lagi hai”

Maggie is enjoying playing the drums to the song.

Ma arrives with the bowls. But what’s this? Only three bowls?

Where’s my bowl, cries Maggie, feeling totally cheated. (Oh, dear!)

And then the brave heart wails in the most heart-wrenching manner. (Dear, dear) And precious tears fall on her dress. Nobody loves me, not even Ma and the poor heart cries like there is no tomorrow. (Oh, dear!)

There is silence in the house. Daddy is amused. What’s funny about a child crying, Maggie seems to be thinking as her wailing rises to another notch, all of which is recorded and uploaded on YouTube. (Oh, dear!)

Then Ma brings Maggie’s bowl and daddy puts some of his noodles into the bowl.

Maggie’s joy knows no end. Bro also gives some of his and Ma some of hers.

Peace is restored in the Gupta family, as Ma mashes the Noodles and feeds Maggie.

Nestle's Maggi averts another tragedy from happening in the Gupta family.

MAGGI is good but not without a loving family to share it with.

Maggie loves Nestle’s MAGGI , and her family is the best.

How about you and yours? (Wink, wink)

Meetthi Maggi Tastes Ew Or New?

A video on YouTube went viral where Maggi was made into a sweet dish. It had received many negative comments, “Ew,” being a common thread. (Gasp!)

Mummy is unfazed and announces Meethi Maggi as a dessert after breakfast. Everybody protests, so she decides to try it on Maggie. (Oops!)

Mummy serves the family Maggi Atta Noodles. Maggie quickly climbs up her chair and looks at her plate. Others are eating with gusto while mummy with false bravado gives something white with liquid to Maggie.

This is not Maggi! Where’s my Maggi Noodles, she protests loudly. (Tsk, tsk)

Maggie’s mouth puckers as she lets out a loud howl, as if her whole world has come crashing down. (Oh, dear!)

With every bite, her howl gets louder with stronger protests (Make that a double tsk, tsk)

Crying at the unfairness of it all, she gets off her chair. (Dear, dear)

Ma tries to get her to eat but her protests reach higher decibels. (Egad!)

Mummy quickly lifts her now furiously kicking baby and forces a spoonful of mashed noodles.

Baby Maggie stops crying and gurgles with delight and opens her mouth for some more.

The family is relieved and happy. All’s well in Maggie’s camp...

...at least till the next experiment, that is...

(Wink, wink)

Maggie Plays Chupa Chupi With Bro And MAGGI (Wink, wink)

Big bro is playing chupa chupi with me. I love the game. Bro hides behind a duppatta  and I uncover it to find him. It’s such fun. I am gurgling with laughter. He does it all the time but I never tire of the game.

Then he shows me a packet of MAGGI Atta Noodles. I am so happy. I reach for it. But he hides it somewhere behind his back. (Oh, dear!)

Now this is getting serious. (Tsk, tsk)

Where is my MAGGI? It’s behind his back. I pull his arm. He brings it forward. His hand is empty. And then he brings the other hand out too. That hand is empty too. How can it be? Where is my MAGGI?

I realize that I have been duped, that my MAGGI is lost forever. My smile turns into a heart-crunching wail. My whole world is crumbling down. How can I live without MAGGI? Where did the packet go? How will I eat MAGGI now? (Dear me!)

Mummy and daddy are watching the scene with amusement, all of which is recorded and uploaded on YouTube! (Dear, dear)

Big bro, wiping the tears from my eyes, gives me a kiss…

…and shows me a packet of MAGGI Noodles!

My voice is querulous as I ask him in a language best understood by babies to please not play such games with me. It’s not funny. (Tsk, tsk)

Big bro gives me the packet and I reach out to kiss him back. Bro is so good. (Muah!)

All’s well that ends well.

Not surprisingly, the day is saved by MAGGI Noodles, once again! (Wink, wink)

We Are A Happy Family (Tee hee)

Daddy, he loves mummy, mummy, she loves daddy

And they both love big bro, and me, Maggie

So, we are a happy family

I wish them both to always be so silly

Oh, what a time was that

When we loved our dogs and pussy cats

As we all sat to watch the IPL match!  (Tee hee)

Maggie's Experiment With The Phone

It’s a hot and sunny Sunday. Daddy is tinkering with his phone’s camera as an idea hits him straight between his eyes.

He dials a number from his mobile and the landline phone rings. (Huh? What’s up, Bro?)

Maggie, who was up until then content with her toy house springs up and walks as fast as her little feet could take her. She is laughing all the way. She climbs up the sofa and reaches out for the phone.

Maggie picks up the phone and baby talks in a language only understood by babies. (Oh, dear)

The whole family is in splits but it’s lost on Maggie as she is loving it! (Dear, dear)

Daddy and baby are engaged in a banter when mummy comes with some curd rice and so daddy continues to play with Maggie. She baby talks and ma quickly puts a spoonful of food into her mouth.

Baby unmindful eats it and baby talks with her daddy. Everybody is laughing now and Maggie understands why. She’s having the time of her life talking over the phone and they are all happy for her. (Tsk, tsk)

The food is done and mummy leaves relieved. (Still more tsk, tsk)

Daddy ends the conversation and stops talking. Maggie is silent for a few minutes and then she realizes that she has been duped and then pours her heart out in the wail that follows, (Oh, dear!) all of which is recorded and uploaded on YouTube. (Dear, dear!)

Big bro comes to her aid. He phones her and they talk for, what seems like, ages. Maggie is happy and so is bro. Maggie plants a moist kiss on big bro’s cheeks as they continue to talk. Daddy takes a picture of the innocent, loving pair at their loving best.

“All’s well that ends well,” as someone once said.

But, hello, where’s MAGGI?

(Wink, wink)

Say, What Do You Want To Be?

When I Grow Up I want to be…

Mummy wants me to be a singer

And Daddy a dancer too

Brother thinks I’m a fine bowler

WHAT DO I DO?

I sing when I am happy

And dance a few steps too

I play cricket when I’m most happy

THAT’S WHAT I WILL DO!

Say, what do you want to be? (Wink, wink!)

There’s A Chicken In The Kitchen (Tee- Hee)

Mommy, there’s a chicken in the kitchen

I saw it while ma was baking muffins

For daddy and bro and Maggie too

It takes an hour while Maggi takes minutes two

Then Maggi is what Ma’ll be making soon.

There’s a match to watch tonight not afternoon!

Heck! Where's Maggie?

It’s a warm and sunny Sunday morning. Daddy is reading the newspaper while mummy is busy dusting the living room.

It’s quiet in the Gupta household. Daddy asks mummy if she has seen Maggie.

Alarm bells start ringing when they both realize that they haven’t seen her. Big brother has gone for tennis practice, they know, so where is she?

Then they hear some noise from the …

…kitchen!

They rush to the kitchen and find Maggie sitting on the floor, her hands full of grubby noodles, her clothes are dirty.

At the commotion, Maggie looks up (hic) to see mamma and papa staring and laughing at the scene.

Maggie joins them laughing as she digs into the noodles once again.

Ma lifts her up while Maggie protests loudly. (Oh, dear!)

Her voice grows louder and louder as mummy sets about to clean her. She washes her hands and face and makes her wear fresh clothes.

But Maggie is adamant to scream and bring the house down, (Oh, dear!) all of which is recorded and uploaded on YouTube. (Dear, dear!)

Ma soothes her and says she will give her MAGGI Noodles but not in the kitchen. Food is eaten at the dining table, she says firmly, as she plants a sweet kiss on baby’s cheeks.

Maggie is mollified as Ma brings her, her favorite yellow plate with a few strings of mashed MAGGI Atta Noodles and tells her to eat it.

A delighted Maggie digs into her plate and puts both her hands into her mouth that can hold just one hand full of food at a time.

Ma is never tired as she watches her youngest child learning the first lessons of eating with her fingers.

Baby is happy as she relishes her favorite food. She loves mummy and daddy and big bro, and of course, MAGGI Noodles!

The moral of the story? If Maggie cries and is adamant about her choice of food, MAGGI Noodles will set it right!  It always does, for the Guptas, at least.

And you? (Wink, wink)

What would make your child eat her/his food? Share with us on the space below. We’d love to hear from you. (Wink, wink)

My Name Is Maggie, Spelt With An ‘e’

I quite like it anyway

The name it came to be they say

One hot and sunny Sunday

They tease me no end every minute of every day

But today eating MAGGI while we watch IPL is how I’ll have my way ( Tee Hee)

Poem About A Reasonably Good Boy

Mummy says I’m naughty

Daddy thinks so too

My teacher keeps complaining: WHAT TO DO!

I tell ma that I’m good

The teacher that I’m fine

That I come back home and watch  IPL all through the night! (Hee haw!)

Nestle's MAGGI Noodles Brings Happy Families Closer

Nestle’s MAGGI Noodles Brings Happy Families Closer

It’s a hot and sunny Sunday morning. Ma is making breakfast, no surprises for getting this right: our family’s favorite MAGGI Atta Noodles! (Gurgle, gurgle)

In the meantime, it’s time for a hot water bath, Ma says.  (Some more gurgle gurgles)

I love having bath. Ma fills the tub with warm water. She gives me my Fergie, my green, rubber frog who floats in the water. When I splash the water it wobbles, bobbing up and down in the tub. I lift Fergie and give it a kiss and squeeze my little hands on it. It makes a noise and jumps out of my hands into the water. I gurgle some more in utter delight.

Ma is having fun too as she splashes some water on me. Then she gives me Huey and Louie, the two white rubber ducklings. My happiness knows no bounds.

Ma laughs and says now give Fergie, Huey and Louie a bath. So saying Ma puts soap on my body and I do the same to my friends. She washes my hair too. I feel so nice. I put some soap lather on Ma’s face. She laughs. We are both so happy.

Then she takes me out of the tub to towel me. I let out a loud wail. I’m not finished just yet, I cry out loud. Ma tries to sush me and I get louder and louder. (Oh, dear!)

Daddy comes in to record some of what he hadn’t missed, all of which is recorded and uploaded on YouTube. (Dear, dear)

Ma is laughing and so is Daddy. I don’t find it funny. Perhaps, bro will help me? (Tsk, tsk)

With all the screaming and dancing, Ma changes my clothes. Nobody loves me, I cry brokenheartedly. (Make that a double tsk, tsk)

Unperturbed, Ma carries me to the dining table for breakfast and she gives me my toys saying that they could have some noodles too.

I hold my toys tightly as Ma wipes my tears. Everybody kisses and hugs me. I sniff but am consoled.

Ma brings the piping hot MAGGI Noodles! One yellow plate for me and three bowls for them. I plant a salivating mouth on Ma’s cheeks. Daddy starts laughing. He mashes some noodles from his bowl and feeds me some strings of Noodles. I love Daddy. He is so funny. And big bro’s so kind too. He gives me some too. Ma makes me eat on my own. They are all looking at me eat messily and are happy that all is well.

That’s what Nestle’s MAGGI Noodles does to you. It makes happy families happier.

Much like you and yours, I’m guessing. Yes? (Wink, wink)

Maggie Eats To The Sound Of The Beat (Wink, wink)

It’s a warm and sunny Sunday noon. Big bro is strumming his guitar. I am nodding my head in rhythm to the sound of the music. Daddy is happy. Another idea takes germ.

Daddy gives me a large brass pot and a wooden spoon and shows me how to beat to the rhythm of the music.

I am gurgling with excitement as I create music that does not resonate with the song. (Oh dear!)

But what the heck, it’s good, no? (Dear me!) And I nod my head and shake my feet as I make sense of the noise.

Everybody is laughing. Pray, what is so funny, I seem to be thinking (Tsk, tsk) as Daddy quickly takes a video of the exercise, all of which is recorded and uploaded on You Tube. (Oh, dear!)
Ma takes advantage of the situation and gives me a mouthful of curd rice
.
Ugh! I let it slip from my mouth, at which point Ma scoops it back right into my mouth. (Ma, where’s my MAGGI?) And I begin to cry. (Dear, dear!)

Daddy comes to the rescue and tells Ma to give me some MAGGI Noodles. Ma gets some mashed strings and feeds me. I eat in delight drumming even more enthusiastically. And then quickly she gives me a spoonful of curd rice. I protest and she quickly gives me MAGGI. We play this cat and mouse game until the curd rice is over. I am happy. I get to play the drums and eat MAGGI! (Hee haw!)

I love Ma and I love MAGGI. Is Nestle listening? What do you think? (Wink, wink!)

Ma, May I Have Some MAGGI, Please?

The tin is airtight. I know. Why are they doing this to me? They don’t want me to eat MAGGI. How cruel can that be?

All I want is MAGGI. So I beat the airtight Lock ‘n’ Lock box. Why, you ask? It might open if I beat it hard enough. I gurgle happily in anticipation.

I’m having fun. Then daddy puts on some music and I play the drums on my favourite MAGGI Noodles’ box, while bro strums on his guitar.

We are all laughing and having fun. Daddy is playing with his camera, all of which is recorded and uploaded on YouTube.

Ma kisses me as she lifts me up. I start crying. First have your bath and then have your instant noodles, she says.

I can’t understand why she is punishing me. And then she puts me in a tub of water in which Fergie my green rubber frog is swimming. I am having fun here too.

After my bath, mummy helps me put on fresh clothes and then puts me on top of the dinner table for breakfast. Daddy and bro are already seated at the.table.

Then daddy and bro start beating their plates with their spoons. This morning is getting more and more funny.

Mummy sets the MAGGI Noodles on the table. There are three bowls, where is mine?

Before I could protest, Ma gives me an unopened packet of MAGGI. But it’s not fair. They are eating, I’m not.

Ma gets it. Soon enough she takes a few strands of noodles and cuts it into small pieces and gives it to me. Ma wipes the tears and tells me to eat.

Everybody stops eating as they watch Maggie’s reaction.

Maggie puts both her hands in the bowl and puts it in her mouth. There is total silence until Maggie puts her hands on the bowl once again.

There is great joy in camp ma and daddy. She just ate some mashed carrot and beans!

Maggie is happy, that she loves her happy family and MAGGI!

Ma is pleased as a punch, too. Nestle”s MAGGI Noodles is the harbinger of happiness in the times to come.

Maggie Wants A Ride And MAGGI Noodles

Daddy’s dressing up. He is putting on his shoes. Where is he going? I want to go too.

I cry.

Daddy pulls my cheeks.

I howl.

Mummy is trying to distract me and motions daddy to leave quickly.

I catch onto the game. But that’s cheating, no? And I howl decibels higher.(Tsk, tsk)

Daddy says that it’s okay, you can come with me in the scooter just once, okay? (I sniff)

I see the scooter and my voice quivers with joy. (Hm...)

Daddy puts me in the front and he climbs onto the bike but behind me.

Daddy starts the scooter and we are on a cruise. The wind is blowing on my hair as I wave to strangers who smile at me going by.

Now daddy lets me hold the handle. Happiness abounds. I am driving the scooter. We go on and on and then I see mummy waving at us.

Daddy lifts me off the scooter and I realise that daddy will be driving the scooter, that our ride is over.

I cry again but daddy kisses me and he rushes off and is quickly out of sight.

Mummy laughs and kisses me too. We go inside and ma gives me a packet of unopened MAGGI Noodle.

I lick the packet while mummy wipes the tears from my eyes and gives me a few strings of cooked Maggi.

Maggie loves ma and papa and MAGGI Noodles.

But you know that already, don’t you? (Wink, wink)

MAGGI Wins Heads Or Tails

With MAGGI, It’s Heads You Lose, Tails You Lose (Heh-heh)

After dinner on a Saturday night, Papa puts the kids to bed, switches off the lights, keeping a zero watt bulb on. He kisses the children goodnight and goes to the living room where Ma is watching TV.

Papa is worried. They have tried everything to stop Maggie from sucking her thumb but have failed. Nothing seems to work. (Tsk, tsk)

Ma is worried too. They sit quietly for a while when Ma suddenly breaks her silence.

What if they distract her with an unopened packet of MAGGI Noodles? (Blink, blink)

Papa isn’t so sure but we have nothing to lose if we tried, he agrees.

Day rolls into night that fateful Sunday. Maggie finishes eating and begins  sucking her thumb

Ma takes out a single packet of an unopened MAGGI  Noodles and gives it to Maggie. And quickly pull out Maggie’s thumb from her mouth.

Maggie gurgles with delight and holds it tightly. She stops sucking her thumb for a while.

It worked. There is much joy in Ma and Pa”s camp...

...until she puts her thumb in her mouth again. (Oh, dear!)

All is not lost. They have another chance at trying again tomorrow. (Tsk, tsk)

Papa tucks Maggie in and kisses her goodnight.

Maggie is holding MAGGI Noodles tightly as she sucks her thumb in her sleep.

All is not well in Ma and Pa”s camp though Maggie sleeps like a. lamb. (Sigh)

You can never win if a child is a great fan of MAGGI Noodles. (Wink, wink)

Don’t even try, you’ll lose. (Hee-haw!)
