Baby Aroonima loves eating...?

From the Mouth of Baby Aroonima Mukherjee

Ronnie is riding a cycle. Mummy is holding me and feeding me while daddy is holding Ronnie’s bike.
Daddy lets the bike go…

…And see, Ronnie is riding it all by himself!

 Whee… what fun!

Mummy and daddy are laughing; I am crying. I want to ride too.

Mummy is saying something like you will have to grow older but first you have to eat Kitchens of India. Then you will grow quickly and be able to ride like dada.

I want to eat Kitchens of India quickly. Will I be able to ride like dada tomorrow?

Mummy kisses me and says yes, of course, but first some rice and Kitchens of India.

I lap it up hungrily.

I love Kitchens of India.

It will help me grow like dada, no?

What do you think? Tell her the truth or let her grow out of it on her own? (Wink, wink)

Parvati met Paromita, her childhood friend, in the busy streets of Iannehc and they sauntered into Odriew Restaurant to catch up with old times.

They sat down and beckoned to a waiter. There were none in sight, except for a sweeper. They wondered if he had seen a waiter. Promptly the scantily clad dirty urchin…

Completed Story Writing Contest - 3

Complete the Story Contest – 3, Completed

-   Ready-to-eat ITC Kitchens of India

On a hot summer’s day at Odriew Restaurant:

Mr. and Mrs. Jagannath saunter in to the restaurant on a hot and sunny afternoon. They have been identified for a prank in jest by the management and ITC Kitchens of India.

Uma Jagannath motions to the waiter to take the orders. “Can you make it snappy; we’re very hungry.” The waiter assures her that he will and then adds as if as an afterthought that today’s specialty is yesterday’s leftovers…

The story continues…

… yesterday’s leftovers at tomorrow’s prices.

“Excuse me”, a bewildered Uma replies, “What does that mean?”

“You see,” replies the waiter a tad impatiently, as to a child, “We do not waste any food out here and we also charge 20 per cent over and above today’s prices for yesterday’s food.”

Uma blurts out before her husband can speak: “But that’s baasi food!” (Tsk, tsk)

The waiter smiles knowingly. “Precisely. That’s why it is so special. You see,” he adds further,” nothing is wasted around here. Not even the leftovers from joottha plates. It is all collected, put in the respective bowls, heated and served hot. Nobody can tell the difference.” He smiles at the brilliance of the idea…”Taste it and see for yourself? I’m not lying!” (Hee-haw!)

Speechless with shock, Uma gets up to leave this God-forsaken place, when the manager arrives and smiles nervously.

 Problems?

Uma unable to bear it lets loose a tirade, all of which is recorded and uploaded on YouTube. (Oh, dear!)

The manager profusely apologizes and says that a joke had been played on them by the management and ITC Kitchens of India. And if they would be so kind as to have a seat a meal fit for the Gods would be set before them. And no, we do not serve baasi food, ever.

Suitably mollified, the couple enjoy their meal, and, before leaving, are gifted a hamper of Kitchens of India with best compliments from the management and ITC Kitchens of India.

Namaskaar.

Have a nice day.

Baby's Day in and with ready-to-eat Kitchens of India

Baby’s Day in…

-   ITC Kitchens of India

Mummy’s giving me ragi.

I want to get down; she wants to feed me.

I cry some and then bawl louder some more.

Mummy is unmindful. She is distracting me with some birds flying here and there.

I realize she is cheating me and eyes moist, bawl again.

Mummy gives up and I win!

Yay, I’m free to crawl!

Wait a minute! She just gave me something nice to eat!

Baby salivates and crawls back for more!

Victory at Camp Mommy!

She mixes some KOI with the rice and baby laps it up without a murmur. (Hee haw!)

Battle won.

Phew, what a battle!

Next tussle:  after two hours.

Makes a mental note to mix KOI in her next meal as well.

Also, to stock packets of KOI for the month. Baby cannot seem to have enough of KOI.

I wonder why…

Your thoughts? (Wink, wink)

Write in and let us know!

Baby and the balloon man

  Baby and the balloon man

Mummy is feeding me ragi. Ugh, I hate that stuff. She is now using harsh words…

But I love you, mommy…

Hey, look! The balloon man…!

Mommy is happy too. She quickly stuffs some of that ikky stuff which I eat.

The balloon man is showing me all the different tricks he can do with the magic of his hands.

I want all of them.

Mommy buys me two and feeds me a spoonful.

She does it again and I avert my face.

She threatens to take the balloons away…

I cry. I love you so mommy but not the ragi…

Where’s my Kitchens of India?

Mummy’s saying something like this is the last packet and that she has to remember to ask the grocer’s for some more.

I drool in anticipation and lap it all away.

Mummy is relieved and she kisses me.

I love it when she does that.

I love you, mommy. I love you Kitchens of India…!

Baby’s asleep. Phew! What a battle…

If it wasn’t for Kitchens of India…

Time to catch a wink…

The next battle… after two hours…

Quick! Call the grocer’s for another packet of ITC Kitchens of India…

(Hee-haw!)

Did baby just gurgle…?
