Maggie’s got
the chills:
All was not
well at 24/3, Worli Seaface Road, on that hot and steaming Sunday morning when
the family woke up to a sniffing Maggie. Evidently, all was not how it was
meant to be.
Mummy was
crying. My baby’s got COVID! Hey Bhagwan raksha karo! Daddy declared, “No going
for a swim at the club.” Bro protested
and angrily got up and spilt Maggie’s hot cup of MAGGI “soup”.
The whole
family was quiet for a while, and then Maggie realized what she thought had
happened had actually happened (Dear, dear!)
And then
rose the most heart-wrenching wail that touched the Gods in Heaven and back to
Earth (Oh dear!)
… and the
tears and her sniffing, would have given the rain clouds a run for their money,
if that were possible. (There, there)
Mummy picked
her up and scolded bro, no Maggie? Bad boy! (Blink, blink)
…And then
bro started crying. (Make that a double tsk, tsk)
Daddy was
having fun. He asked his crying son to stand at an angle. Wah, what a dance
between light and shadow, all of which was recorded and uploaded on YouTube (dear,
dear)
And bro
started bawling even more. (Oh, what can I say? Dear, dear!)
Maggie was
somewhat mollified especially when Mommy brought some more soup, this time some
for bro and some for Maggie.
Mommy was
relieved. Maggie had a good appetite…
…no cough
…or loss of
taste.
And fever? None of that, either.
It must be a change of weather.
Whatever it was, Maggie and bro were unmindful
as they dug into the hot bowls of Nestle’s MAGGI Noodles,
their once-a-week favorite breakfast
Phew! What a
way to begin your day!
All was back
to normal after a tear-jerking episode on a sunny Sunday morning at the Gupta’s.
