When
it smells as good…
ITC
Kitchens of India
On
a cool, summer afternoon at Odriew Restaurant:
On
a cool summer afternoon, a couple saunter in to the Odriew Restaurant. They
have been identified for a good-humored prank by the management and ITC
Kitchens of India.
The affable young gent beckons to a
waiter to take the order. After due consultation with his significant other,
the gent places the order.
At length, the meal is served.
“Served”, did I say? The waiter
wants the guest to smell the dish. (Huh?)…
The bewildered couple smells it and
upon being asked politely praise the smell.
But the waiter insists, is the
smell as good as the taste?
Not having tasted it the guest
replies in the affirmative that it should be as good to eat.
The waiter thanks the guest for his
kind opinion and beckons the boy to take the dishes away.(Blink, blink!)
Hang on, a second; we haven’t
eaten, blurts the guest! (Dear me!)
Ignoring his objection, the waiter proceeds to
ask politely, will that be all?
The much harried guest repeats a
little too dejectedly, that they haven’t even started! (Tsk, tsk)
The waiter then presents the bill
as the cost of dining in the restaurant.
Bewilderment mounts to
consternation as the guest realizes that he has been duped, all of which is
recorded and uploaded on YouTube. (Dear, dear)
He demands loudly that he wishes to
speak to the manager ASAP! (Dear, dear)
At length, the manager arrives
wringing his hands nervously and explains that he was the butt of a joke by the
management and would he be so kind as to wait for a second or two? A feast
worthy of nawabs would be spread before him on the house with best compliments
from the management and ITC Kitchens of
India?
Thank you.
Have a nice meal.
