The Completed Story Contest – 6

ITC Kitchens of India

One fine evening at Odriew Restaurant:

One fine Sunday evening, Arti and Srinivasan saunter into Odriew Restaurant. They have been identified for a prank in good humor by the management and ITC Kitchens of India.

The couple settle in, when Arti observes

The story continues…

… that the glass is dirty. (Oh, dear!)

She beckons to a waiter.

 The waiter duly arrives.

Arti asks him to fetch some clean glasses as these are dirty?

Upon inspection, the waiter observes that why, indeed, the glasses are indeed dirty and proceeds to use the napkin to remove the offending stains. (Oops!)

Arti is irritated at this affront and tells him that she hopes he realizes that he will have to bring fresh napkins as well?! (Hee-haw!)

Does he? What’s wrong with this one? And he proceeds to examine the stained napkin. (Hee-haw!)

Arti now a distinct red in the face asks to speak with the manager ASAP, all of which is recorded and uploaded on YouTube. (Oh, dear!)

The manager arrives and when he is given an earful, he examines the guilty evidence and remarks that they are indeed dirty and that they would be given a clean set if they could kindly wait for a moment or two.  And to make up for the mischief, would they be so kind as to accept a gift hamper with best compliments from the management and ITC Kitchens of India?

Thank you!

Have a nice meal!

When Divakar met Shruti

Note: This is the true story of how Divakar, Arti and Srinivasan’s son, met Shruti for the first time. Who is Shruti? Read on to find out…

I would also like to thank Arti for sharing one of her most tender moments with us.

And now for the story…

Pix from the Past:

When Divakar met Shruti

Mummy has brought me to a strange place.

All the people here speak a different tongue.

I want to go home to papa.

Mummy says we will go once we bring Shruti with us.

When will Shruti come? I want Shruti to come now!

I don’t like the food…

…And I turn my face away.

Mummy mixes Kitchens of India with the rice and I eat.

Mummy knows just what I like.

Achchi mummy.

I’ve had my fill and I ask mummy why Shruti has not come yet.

She says she will come tomorrow if you have your food with Kitchens of India.

I go to sleep.

When I wake up, I am in a strange place and mummy is looking tired.

Mummy smiles and asks me if I ate my food last night?

I say yes, I ate it with Kitchens of India.

Mummy shows me a tiny bundle wrapped up in a blanket and says that this is Shruti.

I love Shruti but will she love Kitchens of India?

What do you think Arti would have told him? Write your comments in the space below.

Until the next,

Adieus!
